  Time to criticize another religion: Islam

  please understand i have nothing against islam.

  i have something against alpha muslim men.. i was walking my cute little chihuahua mix in the park the other day when darts off sniffing since i am using a retractable extension leash and i am not minding the fact that he comes up on a muslim family and gets within a foot of them.

  the paterfamilias gives me a dirty look and then says something to his wife and i can make out the word "saif" which is arabic for "sword.

  my ex husband and father of my daughter was never baptized but is still a believer in the wt.. a couple years ago we were talking about evolution ( which he does not believe in ) i brought up the subject of the neanderthals and how we all have their dna except africans ( the ones that never left africa ).

  he said neanderthals are apes and not humans and jw's do not teach that they are humans.

  i said i believe they do.. in the life- how did it get here book, under the sub heading " the human family "is says " neanderthal man....... was undoubtedly human.. his response was " they are just talking about what other people believe " ahhhhh .

  Fantastic point! Bringing Neandertals into the creation account is another monkey wrench that can be thrown at their world view.

  Did Neandertals evolve from Adam? Or did they evolve from Noah? Maybe Perry knows?

  growing up, i never ever even saw these guys faces, or even knew their names.

  all of a sudden they're on my computer screen, tv, and on every other magazine coming out of the watchtower machine.

  Some marketing strategist must have suggested that they all become more public. Even the jokes that they make in their talks are scripted. It's an attempt to give a human face to the organization. Too much is happening all at once to imagine that these men, who have no imagination, are making the changes on their own.

  some jw's on various postingshave asked me was there anything about the jw's i still agree with.

  of course there are some things i agree with and some i partially do.

  1. political involvement - while i do not agree with totally avoiding anything associated with politics, i agree that many of todays churches are way too involved in trying to sway their constituents beliefs.

  i've been reading you for several months now and at last i decided to register !

  i'm not sure if my post is in the good category so feel free to move it if it is not.... i'm french and i da'd in last november, losing my family by the way... i'm married and my wife is still in but our couple is still strong.. i still believe in the bible and i go from time to time in a baptist church.. i created a french website to expose the watchtower and its false teachings.

  there is not a lot of websites like jwfacts in french so i tried to make it !.

  the bible does say that the "day of jehovah" (armageddon) would be associated with the sun becoming dark followed by the moon turning to blood.

  but the moon turning to blood is specific to a total lunar eclipse.

  Perry, Aborigines are smaller than Caucasians. There is going to be variation within a species. As far as their adaptability to their environment is concerned that can be expected since they've been raised in it.

  As far as their having more skills than us that is because we're the product of school education and further more we are not submerged in an environment from which we get our food. That is their 'profession' so to speak and evolution would have weeded out those who aren't smart enough.

  As for Neandertal and his brain he had, as I previously stated less frontal cortex due to the sloping of his skull. That is the portion of the brain that deals with fore planning. However he had much more of the occipital brain, to the rear where visual processing occurs.

  As far as tools are concerned it is undisputable in the scientific community that they did not compare with Homo Sapiens of the same time period. Just because it would be hard for you to make those tools doesn't mean that they're more intelligent than you. The reason is because they would learn those skills as children. It's like learning a second language, childhood is when it's best to do that.
